Roy Hill – Environmental Approval (2017)

GaiaRevolution developed a comprehensive environmental approvals strategy designed to secure all necessary environmental consents within critical project timeframes and aligned with the defined scope of works. This strategy considered the regulatory requirements under both State and Commonwealth legislation, ensuring a streamlined pathway through the approvals process while managing environmental risks and stakeholder expectations.

As part of this process, GaiaRevolution provided ongoing support to Roy Hill in the preparation of a detailed Mining Proposal, in accordance with the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) guidelines. We also led the development of a Part IV Environmental Review Document under the Environmental Protection Act 1986, ensuring the proposal was thoroughly assessed for potential environmental impacts and that appropriate mitigation measures were identified.

In addition, GaiaRevolution prepared a Section 45C application to allow for a key project modification—specifically, the construction and operation of an In-Pit Tailings Disposal facility. This involved assessing the potential environmental implications of the proposed changes, preparing supporting documentation, and liaising with regulatory authorities to facilitate approval within the desired timeline.

Our integrated approach ensured that all regulatory requirements were met while maintaining project momentum and aligning with RoyHills’ construction and operational objectives.
