Concrete Manufacturing Facility –Great Northern Concrete (2017 – 2020)

GaiaRevolution provided comprehensive environmental consultancy services to Great Northern Concrete, supporting the project from early-stage planning through to regulatory approvals and environmental management. Our involvement covered a range of key deliverables critical to project progression and compliance.

As part of our services, we prepared and submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to support a proposed scheme amendment. This involved detailed analysis of the potential environmental impacts associated with the amendment, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring alignment with both local planning frameworks and environmental regulations. Our strategic approach resulted in the successful approval of the EIA, enabling the amendment to proceed within the intended timeframe.

GaiaRevolution also led the preparation and submission of a Part V Works Approval under the Environmental Protection Act 1986. This process included the development of technical documentation, site-specific emissions assessments, and liaison with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) to ensure a timely and successful outcome. Approval was obtained without the need for significant revisions, reflecting the quality and completeness of the submission.

In addition, we prepared an Environmental Management Plan and a Dust Management Plan, tailored to the operational needs of the project and the characteristics of the site. These plans provided practical and regulatory-compliant strategies for minimising environmental impacts during construction and operation, particularly with regard to dust generation, noise, surface water, and habitat protection. Both plans were developed in consultation with project engineers and site managers to ensure feasibility and effectiveness in real-world application.

Through this work, GaiaRevolution supported Great Northern Concrete in achieving key regulatory milestones while ensuring environmental risks were proactively identified and managed, supporting the project’s long-term sustainability and compliance.
